Abstract

The study revealed 20% mixed infection by SLCMV and ICMV in all the five districts but the distribution of individual virus infection varied districts wise. The distribution pie chart also shows that there is a recent invasion by ICMV of an area which is originally colonized by SLCMV. Cloning and sequence analysis of rep genes of those field isolates of ICMV and SLCMV revealed tendency of ICMV rep genes to cluster geographically. The rep genes of SLCMV and ICMV showed 99% and92% similarity with NCBI reported accessions of SLCMV and ICMV respectively.
