Abstract

Field experiment was conducted to evaluate the effect of different varieties and phosphorus on productivity and nutrient uptake of mungbean during Kharif 2011 at Jobner (Rajasthan). Among varieties, MUM 2 proved to be significantly superior over RMG 268, RMG 2, RMG 344 and RMG 492 in respect to yield attributes and yield. Maximum values of total N and P uptake as well as protein content in seed was also higher in variety MUM 2 followed by RMG 492. Application of phosphorous increased yield attributes, yield, N and P content in seed and stover as well as their total uptake with increasing levels of P up to 40 kg P2 O5 /ha. Significantly higher net returns (Rs. 27, 702/ha) were observed with application of 40 kg P2 O5 /ha.
