A field experiment was conducted at Sri Karan Narendra Agriculture University, Jobner during
kharif season of 2014 on sandy loam soil to evaluate the interaction effect of phosphorus and bioorganic
for increasing productivity of mungbean (Vigna radiata L.Wilczek). The two factor factorial
experiment was laid-out in three times replicated randomized block design. The treatments consisted
of 20-combinations of 4-phosphorus levels (0, 20, 40 and 60 kg/ha) and 5-bio-organic sources (Control,
PSB, VAM, vermicompost at 2 t/ha and VAM + vermicompost at 2 t/ha). Results revealed that
application of 60 kg phosphorus/ha with VAM + vermicompost at 2 t/ha recorded the highest
number of pods/plant (49.7), grain/pod (11.7), grain yield (1.47 t/ha), straw yield (3.02 t/ha) and
biological yield (4.50 t/ha). Similarly the highest uptake of N (131 kg/ha), P (12.2 kg/ha), K (93.4
kg/ha), net return (59801 Rs/ha) also obtained with the same treatment. However, it was found at
par with 40 kg phosphorus/ha with VAM + vermicompost at 2 t/ha indicating that this treatment
could be an efficient alternative to increase the productivity of mungbean particularly for resource
poor farmers.
