Abstract

A field experiment was conducted at Agronomy farm, Sri Karan Narendra, College of Agriculture,
Jobner (Jaipur) during kharif season 2015 to study the effect of fertility levels and agro-chemicals on
performance of sesame. The results revealed that application of 100% recommended dose fertilizer
gave significantly higher growth parameter (plant height, number of branches/plant and dry matter
accumulation at harvest), yield attributing characters (number of capsules/plant, number of seeds/
capsule and test weight) and grain yield (0.94 t/ha), stalk yield (3.05 t/ha), biological yield and
harvest index of sesame over 50% and 75% RDF and was at par with 125% RDF. Further, foliar
spray of 500 ppm thiourea gave significantly higher growth parameter (plant height, number of
branches/plant and dry matter accumulation at harvest), yield attributing characters (number of
capsules/plant, number of seeds/capsule and test weight), grain yield (0.97 t/ha), stalk yield (3.05
t/ha), biological yield and harvest index of sesame over control.
