The compatibility of pearlmillet (Pennisetum americanum), clusterben (Cymopsis tetragonoloba), raya (Brassica juncea) and chickpea (Cicer arietinum) crops in association with silvi-horticultural system of Dalbergia sissoo, Azadirachta indice, Morus alba and Emblica officinalis were investigated. Studies carried out under rainfed conditions showed that grain and straw yields were statistically at par during the year 1999. During 2000 i.e. 6th year of study the grain yield of pearlmillet was significantly less in association with the trees as compared to sole cropping. The silvi-hotrticultural systems of Dalbegia sissoo + Morus alba and A. indica + Morus alba showed maximum return in association with all the field crops grown. Conservation of rain water in kharif and raising of chickpea and raya were found to be most economical practice. Dalbergia sissoo showed maximum growth as compared to other tree species through out the course of investigation.
