Abstract

Seasonal incidence and level of infestation caused by different instars of E. machaeralis in nursery stock during July' 97 to April' 98 was studied. Active larval incidence on leaves per seedling ranged from 8.33 to 38.46% in different months. Low and moderate incidence had ranged from 8.33 to 22.22% and 32.0 to 37.50%, respectively. The population building was started by the first week of October and hiked gradually upto 48.0 per seedling during third week of November. Climatic data showed significant influence on population build up of the pest. Rainfall (x5), minimum temperature (x2), relative humidity at 14 hrs (x4) had significant positive correlation on larval population of the pest on teak seedlings in north Bihar.
