Abstract

The distribution of available (C, N, P) nutrients were studied in a Prosopis cineraria based traditional agroforestry system with cultivated as well as uncultivated fields. P. cineraria enhanced the C, N and P in both the conditions. However, the enrichment of available nutrients is significantly higher in uncultivated fields as compared to the cultivated fields. The cultivation practices gradually led to the loss of nutrients in the semiarid agroforestry system of western Rajasthan.
