Abstract

The study was conducted to estimate the nutrient requirement of Grevillea robusta seedlings in the nursery stage, where both organic and inorganic sources of nutrients were tried. Organic manure application resulted in better growth performance compared to inorganic sources. Among the organic manures, goat and pig manures were found to be good. Among the different concentrations of major inorganic nutrients, application of 1.5 g/plant nitrogen in split doses at one month interval was found to perform better, while the same concentration in single dose was found to be deleterious. Supplementation of nutrients either in organic or inorganic form is essential for higher growth which helped in increasing the plant height, collar diameter and number of leaves that eventually resulted in higher biomass accumulation.
