Publication Ethics
The Indian Journal of Animal Nutrition (IJAN) is committed to maintaining the highest standards of publication ethics and takes all possible measures against publication malpractice. IJAN follows The journal follows internationally accepted ethical principles for the publication ethics and malpractice. Authors, editors, reviewers, and publishers are expected to adhere to ethical standards throughout the publication process.
Research integrity
IJAN publishes only original, scientifically sound, and ethically conducted research. The journal does not tolerate any form of research or publication misconduct, including but not limited to:
- Plagiarism
- Data fabrication or falsification
- Duplicate or redundant publication
- Image manipulation
- Citation manipulation
- Undisclosed conflicts of interest
- Authorship misconduct
Any suspected ethical misconduct will be investigated and actions deemed appropriate such as rejection of the manuscript, publication of corrections, retractions, notifications to authors' institutions will be taken.
Ethical compliance
Submission of a manuscript to the Indian Journal of Animal Nutrition implies that all authors have read, understood, and agreed to comply with this Publication Ethics and Malpractice Statement.
IJAN remains committed to preserving scientific integrity, promoting responsible research practices, and ensuring the publication of high-quality, ethically conducted research that advances the field of animal nutrition.
Ethical compliance by authors
Authors must ensure that their submitted work is original. Any use of the work and/or words of others must be appropriately cited or quoted. Authors should not submit the same manuscript to more than one journal simultaneously. Publishing substantially the same research in more than one journal constitutes unethical publishing behaviour. If ask, the authors may provide raw data related to their manuscript for editorial review and should retain such data for a reasonable period even after publication.
Authorship claim
Authorship should be limited to individuals who have made significant contributions to the conception, design, execution, or interpretation of the reported study. All co-authors must approve the final version of the manuscript.
Copyright & licensing
Authors are responsible for ensuring that copyrighted materials, including figures, tables, and images reproduced from other sources, have been used with appropriate permission and acknowledgment.
Conflict of interest
At the time of manuscript submission, the authors must disclose any financial or other conflicts of interest that may influence the results or interpretation of their work. If no conflicts exist, authors should clearly state: ‘The authors declare no conflict of interest.’
Funding disclosure
Authors must disclose all sources of financial support, including grant numbers where applicable. The role of the funding agency in study design, data collection, analysis, interpretation, or manuscript preparation should be stated.
Corrections & retractions
If an author discovers a significant error in a published article, they must promptly notify the Chief Editor. After ascertaining the issue, the journal will take appropriate action, which may include:
- Publication of corrections (Errata or Corrigenda)
- Expressions of concern
- Retraction of articles
- Removal of content in exceptional legal circumstances
Complaints and Appeals
Authors may appeal editorial decisions by submitting a detailed justification to the Chief Editor, Indian Journal of Animal Nutrition through email at Chiefeditorijan@gmail.com . Complaints concerning editorial processes, peer review, or publication ethics will be handled confidentially, fairly, and in accordance to the international guidelines.
