Abstract

The main problem of penaeid shrimp
farming in Bwgladesh is the scarcity of postlarvae
(PL), specially at the time of high
demand. The survival rate of the collected
post-larvae prior to stocking is generally
between 10 and 15% depending on several
factors (Anonymous 1989). Trials were made
to keep shrimps alive in an insulated box
under simulated hibernation without
supplementary water and oxygen.
