Abstract

Nemipterus japonicus is a significantspecies of fin fish in the marine waters of Bangladesh.This species is not very popular in thelocal markets but is likely to become popularin near future due to its lower price and highersupply in the markets. Present fishing pressureon demersal fish has been increasinggradually. However, information on fishingpressure and sustainable stock position isunknown to the fishermen and others concerned.
