Abstract
Lamellidens carrians is an edible bivalvehaving a good fishery potential and is used asfood in many parts of the country as in Goa.Though the allometric relationships of severalbivalves along the Indian coast have beenstudied (Alagarswami, 1966; Ansari, et ah,1978; Coe and Fox, 1942; Cheriyan andCherian, 1974; Durve and Dharma Raja, 1965;Mohan and Damodaran, 1981; Mohan et al,1984; 1986 Nayar, 1955, Parulekar et al. 1973;Rao, 1853; Seed, 1973; Shafee, 1976; Shafeeand Sundaram, 1975; Thalikhedkar et al .,1976 there is hardly any such information onthe L. carrians. Hence an attempt is made tofill this lacuna which may help in commericalexploitation of this species.Downloads
