Abstract
Fishes belonging to order Pleuronectiformesare highly peculiar in appearance dueto the presence of both the eyes on one sideof the head the other side being blind. In thefamilies Bothidae and Cynoglossidae, eyesare present on the left side, whereas in thefamilies Pleuronectidae and Soleidae, theeyes are located on the right side of the head(Day, 1878; Norman,1934).Downloads
