Abstract
The present study revealed that Channa striata could be propagated in farm ponds with relative ease. One year and above old fish were bred without any inducement, and several broods of fry were produced
during June-September. The percentage survival and growth of early-fry were markedly higjier when
retrieved and reared in cement cisterns than when left in the breeding ponds.
