Abstract

The sequence of oocyte maturation in Clarias macrocephalus (Gnnther)
is hi!.tologicaUy divided into seven stages: oogonia stage, chromatin-nucleolus
stage, early perinucleolus stage, late perinucleolus stage, yolk-vesicle stage, early
yolk-granule stage and late yolk-granule stage. These histologically identified stages
are related to six morphological stages.
