Abstract
Somatic chromosome counts of two species of sciapnids, Nibea semiluctuosaand Johnius belangerii, based on tissue preparations mad^ under Colchicinecitrateaceto-
methanol-air-dry technique from kidney, intestine, stomach and gill are
reported here. Both the species gave a diploid chromosopie count of 48, and the
chromosomes were found to be acrocentric.
