Abstract
In the snow-trout Schizothorax longipinnis from the river Jhelum, on thebasis of plotting ova-diameter-frequency polygons and tracing largest mode in the
diameter-distribution of ova, seven maturity stages are fixed. About 50% of the
fish are found to mature at 250-mm length. Fecundity per kg of body-weight is
estimated at 41,355. Relative fecundity is found to vary from 25 to 71 (X = 45
ova). Relationships between fecundity and other variables are also reported.
