Abstract

OVERGROWTH of submerged vegetation is a common occurrence in fishery
waters, while in manured nursery ponds this growth is extremely rapid,
choking them up within a few days, if not checked in time. Any piece of
water, if not managed properly, will be overgrown with weeds in a relatively
short period, adversely affecting the growth of carps by limited moving
space for the fish, and also the fishing which is hindered. An effective check
on their growth and eradication when necessary is, therefore, essential for
the proper maintenance of fishery waters and the satisfactory production of
fish in them.
