TOXICITY OF ELSAN TO THE INDIAN SNAKEHEAD CHANNA PUNCTATUS
101 / 139
Abstract
The toxicity of Elsan to Channa punctatiis, studied by the graphicalmethod, was found to follow the probit theory. The LC50 was around 0.43
ppm|48 h bothways, by sigmoid curve as well as by probit line. The acetylcholinesterase
activity in the fish exposed to sublethal concentration of Elsan decreased
considerably, suggesting metabolic derangement under toxic stress
