Abstract
Chromium induced erythropenia and leukopenia in Clarias batrachus, aswas evident from the significant decrease in the RBC.and total leukocyte counts.
Haemoplobin percentage and packed cell volume, too, decreased. These alterations
were more or less proportional to the dosage of the toxin. The results
indicated that the fish suffered from acute anaemia. Further, the increase in
MCV and MCH and decrease in MCHC showed that the anaemia was macrocytic
