Abstract
The study is based on data obtained from the Iraqi Enterprise for the MarineFisheries for the years 1975-1979. The analyses indicated that the northern parts
of the Arabian gulf has more noncommercial fish families than commercial. The
abundant commercial families were Ariidae, Sciaenidae, Stromatidae, Sparidae
and Synodontidae
