STUDIES ON THE BIOLOGY OF CIRRHINUS MRIGALA (HAMILTON) OF THE RIVER GODAVARI

Abstract
Some aspects of biolcigy of Cirrhinus mrigala (Hamilton) from the riveiGodavari were studied. The {markings on the scales were used as indices of age,
after ascertaining the annual nature of f carmation of growth checks. The relationship
between total length of the fish and scale radius was found to be linear.
It was shown that the rings were laid during the period May-August. The
probable causative factors in the formation of rings are discussed
