Abstract
The deep sea spiny lobster Puerulus sewelli was found to occur along thewest coast of India within a depth range of 180 to 460 metres. A brief study
was carried out on the distribution, abundance, seasonal variations and fishery
potential of this species, based on the catches of the trawlers of Integrated
Fisheries Project. Studies on some biological aspects like length frequency, sex
and berried-stages of females were also carried out. Methods of processing and,
the problems arose during processing are' also discussed.
