Abstract
An inverse relationship has been observed between fat and water contentsin the liver of the common major carp, Cirrhina mrigala (Ham.). This relationship
in the liver Was found to vary very little under different annual conditions,
and, within a seasonal cycle, remained almost the same for different phases of
feeding, gonad matfiration and growth
