Abstract
The shallow perenniel sewage fed Bellandur tank is highly productive. The fishproduction comprised mainly of minor carps, catflshes and murrels which together
form 78.6% and the rest is represented by major carps and common carps. The tank
needs systematic development by controlling undersirable species and by intensive
stocking of mojor carps and common carps. A detailed study of the fish populations
bionomics of the important fish and the physico-chemical investigation is important
if fisheries development of the tank is to be intensified.
