Abstract
Field experiments on the mixed rearing of fifteen day old fry of Catia catla, Labeorohita, Cirrhina mrigala and Cyprinus carpio var, communis in six 0.08 hectare rearing
ponds were conducted for three-month periods during 1965 and 1966. Stocking was
done at three densities, v(z. 62,500, 93,750 and 125,000 per hectare, with the species
ratio of 3:4:1:2 respectively. The fingeriings were daily fed on a mixture of mustard
oil cake and rice bran and in the course of three months, the ponds were once treated
with nitrogenous and phosphate manures. On the termination of the experirnents, all
the fingeriings were harvested and their survival, growth and yield were estimated
