Abstract
The length frequency distribution method was used to trace the growth and assessthe age of C. kalla. This species attains a length of about 82 mm at the end of its first
year, 132 mm at its second year and 167 mm at its third year.
Recruitment to the inShore fishery of this fish appears to take place twice a year. the
major one in December-January and the minor one in July-August. The local inshore
fishery is seen to be supported by the 1I year group fish.
By using Walford's growth transformation method the values of ok' and La:' obtained
for C. kalla are 071 and 271 mm respectively
