Abstract
Marked annual fluctuations in the fisheries of the Hilsa have been observed by previous workers {\ide Pillay, 1955). Hora (1940 and 1952) has surmised that there is a five-year periodicity in the Hilsa fisheries of the Gangetic Rivers. But the factor or factors responsible for such fluctuations have not yet been elucidated.Downloads
