Fuzzy von Bertalanffy growth model for determining age-length relationship
171 / 100
Abstract
For applying von Bertalanffy growth model, the dependent variable, viz. length is generally assumed to be described by a single number for each age-group of fish. In reality, length corresponding to even-aged fish should be expressed byan interval. To this end, fuzzy regression methodology is discussed and illustrated with the help of some data on pearl oysters. Importance of using raw data as such rather than converting it into range is also highlighted.
