Mitochondrial DNA markers for population studies in Labeo rohita
157 / 98
Abstract
For the identification of population genetic markers in rohu Labeo rohita, universalmitochondrial DNA primers of ND1/16s rRNA and ND5/6 genes were
tested and found to amplify particular fragments. Restriction digestion of the
amplified products showed polymorphism suggesting its potential as a genetic
marker for population studies.
