Effect of methyl testosterone (tablets) in sterilization and masculnization of common carp, Cyprinus carpio communis (L)

Abstract
Laboratory bred hatchlings of Cyprinus carpio communis (L) were subjected to30 days hormone treatment using methyl testosterone. The specimens treated with600 ppm per kg of fish, which appeared to be the optimum dose, after a rearingperiod of 240 days were found to retard development of ovary and testis thusmaking 74.45% of the fishes sterile.Downloads
