Histopathological studies on the myxoboliasis of Cirrhinus mrigala (Hamilton-Buchanan)

Abstract
The histopathological studies of the skin, muscle, gill, liver, kidney, heart and spleenof Cirrhinus mrigala naturally infected with Myxobolus sp. were made. Grossly,
the skin, gill and liver showed pin-head sized nodular cystic growths. Skin revealed
lymphocjftic infiltrations in the epidermis and liver showed cystic hepatitis.
Vegetative growths were seen in the endocardium and in lumen of the blood vessels.
The infection was 37.5% in liver and 5% in cases of all the organs except spleen.
