Abstract
Elefan, Elefan I and Elefan II were used to estimate parameters of population of Acetes chinensis from length-frequency data collected from Kutubdia channel of Bangladesh coastal waters. The von Bertalanffy growth parameters Lm and K for the species were 40.00 mm and 1.60/year. The annual rate of natural mortality (M), fishing mortality (F) and total mortality (Z) were found to be 4.26, 1.13 and 5.39 respectively. The rate of exploitation (E) was estimated as 0.21. The mean length at first capture (Lc) was estimated as 23.527 mm. This shrimp was recruited in the fishery during March-August. Peak recruitment occurred during March-April and July-October. E . was found to be 1.00. The present investigation showed below optimum fishing pressure (E<0.50) for Acetes chinensis in the Kutubdia channel of Bangladesh coast. The relationship between total length and body weight was found to be W=0.01073 >pT 2.908Downloads
