Abstract

Experiments were conducted in freshwater ponds to determine effects on
production of Macrohrachium rosenbergii by substituting cowdung for feed
during the first 90 days in growout ponds. Three series of experiments were
conducted by applying feed alone (series-A), cowdung only (series-B) and
cowdung during the first three months followed by feed alone (series-C). After
180 days of growth, yield of prawn and income were higher in series-C.
