Abstract
The occurrence of Nemipterus marginatus (Valenciennes, 1830) in the seas around India is reported for the first time based on a specimen collected from commercial trawl catches at Visakhapatnam on the east cost of India. The threadfin breams constitute an important group of commercial fishes in India. Of the 20 species of the genus Nemipterus Swainson recorded from the Indo- Australian Archipelago only 8 species are so far been reported from the Indian seas. The occurrence of yet another species N. marginatus is reported by the authors.Downloads
