Abstract

The relationship between length-weight and total length-carapace length in Metapenaeopsis barbata is significantly different for males and females. The equations are : Males : Log^ total weight = -13.1903 + 3.2731 log^ total length, female : Log^ total weight = -13.6350 + 3.3762 Log^ total length. Males : CL = 0.2562 + 0.1921 TL. Females : CL = -2.1082 + 0.23''l7 TL. Males are heavier than females upto a total length of 73 mm and females are heavier than males from a total length of 77 mm onwards with both sexes weighing equally in between
