Abstract
The length-weight relationship, relative condition and relative probability of Bagarius bagarius, (Ham.) locally known as "Gorua" or "Bagari" from the river Brahmaputra of Assam were investigated. Length-weight relationship follows the law in between cube and tetra, indicating a three dimensional pattern of growth. The regression coefficient varied due to sex, size and also for different parameters of the body. Relative condition factor reflected its gonadial maturity, spawning season and periodic abundance and arrival of species. However, relative probability factor reflected its minimum and maximum possible length and weight. The volume of per kg. weight ofthe fish indicated the compactness of their bodies.Downloads
