Abstract

Clarias batro and therefore fry (1.46g) we mg/kg ascorh was measure respectively, (inclusion lev wholebody tis findings indi about 69.0 n chus (Linn.) was found to lack 1-gulonolactone oxidase activity s depend on dietary supply of ascorbic acid. Clarias batrachus re fed with diets containing 0.0, 50.0,100.0,150.0 200.0 and 250.0 ic acid for 8 weeks. The ascorbic acid level in the diets as fed d and those were :trace; 19.0; 41.0; 56.0; 69.0 and 92.0 mg/kg Best growth performance was obtained with 69.0 mg/kg el in the diet was 200.0 mg/kg). The ascorbic acid content of :sue increased with increase in dietary ascorbic acid content. The ;ated that ascorbic acid requirement of Clarias batrachus fry is ig/kg diet
