Abstract

The length-weight relationship, relative condition factor, growth, maturity, mortality and exploitation of Ariomma indica from north Andhra Pradesh coast was studied. Growth parameters estimated for von Bertalanffy's growth function were : L = 23.48 cm, K = 0.57U per year and to = -0.182 years. The fish attains maturity at {50.5 mm and has a lonfevity of 5.25 years. The total mortality Z and the fishing mortality F were estimated as 2.3385 and 1.0322 respectively. The exploitation ratio E = 0.441 indicated near optimal state of exploitation of the stock. The trend of fishery during 1981 - '91 is Elso presented
