Abstract
Application of nitrogen at the rate of 40 kglha (obtained from calcium ammonium nitrate)exhibited better survival, growth and fecundity of fish in ponds. At different rates of
nitrogen (20, L,O, 80, 160 and 320 kg Nlha), dissolved oxygen, ammonia nitrogen, nitrate
nitrogen, phosphate, productivity of water and available nitrogen, available phosphorus
and pH of soil significantly increased.
