Abstract

Sesamum crop sown on June 5, recorded highest incidence of phyllody 28.6 and 26.5 per cent during Kharif 2002-2004,respectively. A relatively lower disease incidence was recorded with advancement of date of sowing and maximum (15.0and 15.1) leaf hopper vector populations in the crop sown on July 15, and July 25, respectively. Significant positive correlation between phyllody incidence with maximum and minimum temperature and negative correlation with maximum relative humidity and rainy days were observed. Vector population was statistically non significant and showed negative effect on phyllody incidence. Maximum temperature.
