Abstract

At the outset I am grateful to the Indian Phytopathological society for asking me to deliver this prestigious M. S. Pavgi Award lecture –2005. It is a great privilege and honour to me . Although my interaction with Prof. Pavgi had been very brief, I was highly impressed with his valuable contribution to the cause of plant Pathology. For this lecture, I have selected a topic to talk on “Virus and virus like diseases affecting citrus in India – a step forward to Management of die-back complex†– a century old problem in India.
