Some novel taxa of hyphomycete genus Cercospora causing foliar spots in India

Descriptions and illustrations are provided for six new species of Cercospora viz; C. bixaecola sp. novo on living leaves of Bixa orellana L. (Bixaceae), C. calendulaecola sp. novo on Calendula sp. (Asteraceae), C. gossypiicola sp. novo on Gossypium hirsutum L. (Malvaceae), C. hibicina sp. novo on Hibiscus subdarifa L. (Malvaceae), C. jasminae sp. novo on Jasminum multiflorum (Oleaceae) and C. tephrosiicola sp. novo on Tephrosia purpurea Pers. (Fabaceae) respectively. These species have been collected from terai belt of India and are illustrated and compared with their allied taxa to justify their separate identity at species level
