Inhibitory effects of leaf extracts of some plants on the anthracnose fungi infecting Capsicum annum

Aqueous leaf extracts of 23 wild plants were screened against the anthracnose fungi (Colletotrichum capsici and Gloeosporium piperatum (Glomerella cingulata]) infecting Capsicum annum. Leaf extracts of Solanum torvum, Datura metel and Prosopis juliflora effectively inhibited the conidial germination and mycelial growth of these fungi.
