Abstract

The effects of temperature, darkness and light conditions were studied on the conidial germination of Erysiphe polygoni isolated from fenugreek (Trigonella foenum-graecum) leaves. Conidial germination was observed for 24 h at 19-23℃ and found to improve up to 21℃ and decline at higher temperatures. Darkness inhibited and light stimulated germination of E. polygoni. Under light conditions there was improvement in conidial germination up to 34% at 21℃. After 22℃ there was no significant increasein conidial germination.
