Abstract

Eighty-five genotypes of Basmati rice were evaluated against Fusarium moniliforme [Gibberella fujikuroi] during the 1997 and 1998 kharif seasons. Forty-day-old seedlings were inoculated by dipping their roots in a concentrated conidial suspension ofthe pathogen. Thirteen lines were highly resistant and 7 were moderately resistant. All four recommended varieties grown in Gurdaspur district were highly susceptible to foot-rot (78.3-91.9%).
