Abstract

A tospovirus infection increased the protein content of tomato plants. Healthy plants also exhibited slight increase in protein content with increase in age. Significant increase in the concentration of amino acid was noted in infected tomato plants while the increase was not signifiant in healthy plants. Alanine, aspartic acid, glutamic acid, phenylalanine, serine, threonine and tryptophan contents were more in the infected tomato plants compared to the healthy ones.
