Identification of physiological races of Puccinia helianthi in India

During 1993-94 and 1994-95, 13 P. helianthi samples from 9 locations and 16 samples from 16 locations, respectively, were collected in Karnataka, Maharashtra and Andhra Pradesh, India. The existence of virulent or sub races that infect most sunflower cultivars were identified.
