Abstract

Five selected plant products were assayed for fungitoxicity against P. aphanidermatum, the causal organism of damping off of Capsicum. Among them, extracts from garlic bulbs (10%) recorded the minimum mycelial growth (176 mg) followed by Lawsonia inermis leaf extract. Maximum percentage of seed germination, growth and vigour of Capsicum seedlings were also observed with garlic bulbs. All the plant products inhibited the production of hydrolytic enzymes by the pathogen to varying degrees.
