Abstract

The ability of 9 fungicides, Bavistin [carbendazim], Vitavax [carboxin], Baycor [bitertanol], Topsin-M [thiophanate-methyl], Bayleton [triadimefon], Tilt [propiconazole], Folicur [tebuconazole], chlorothalonil and Indofil M-45 [mancozeb+thiophanate-methyl], to control kernel smut (Neovossia horrida [Tilletia barclayana]) of rice was determined. Folicur, Tilt and Baycor gave the best disease control resulting in 45.8, 57.4 and 61.6% diseased panicles, compared with 94.1% in the control.
